Last night, I got both Picos to communicate with each other (SOMETIMES). Over the past few days, I have experimented with turning off the router firewalls -- this ASUS3100 has a firewall and it also has something called AiProtection : per the router notes:
However, what I did notice is that if you ping long enough (5 or so minutes), eventually the PCs that have Thonny running on them will at least see the server and client with successful pings. Once that happens, one can restart the server and then restart the client -- and SOMETIMES -- the 2 picos will communicate with each other. Once they lock up and communicate, no packets seem to be lost and the system works well at least for 20 minutes, which is as long as I had time to run it.
Yes, I think I want to find a cheap router somewhere and use it instead. I don't want it hooked up to the internet since my future applications are just to route data throughout the house between 2 picos. Unfortunately, access point mode has too short of a range (maybe 3 -4 meters) with walls in between. May I ask what router you are using?
. None of this seemed to matter.Network Protection with Trend Micro protects against network exploits to secure your network from unwanted access.
