Are your server archives searchable? As with all social media it depends on who is involved. And why do people who are not involved like to give their opinions ?
I have a server that a few of my friends from the computer museum use for regular chatting in the evenings. It's great for that.
I'm also on servers for Wayfire, Pimoroni, "unofficial" Pico and Pi, all of which are well structured and very useful.
But as always YMMV.

Discord is great for chatting. Not so much for recording information.
Mobiflite has just closed their forum and moved entirely to discord for support. Great. Now no-one can find anything. Furthermore, whilst I can connect to discord on a web browser on my laptop, it's not possible on the web browser on my phone - I have to use an app for that. No thanks.
Discord has its place, but it doesn't provide the same kind of functionality that a forum does. "Unstructured noise" is a particularly apt description.
