I recently acquired a Raspberry Pi 4B and installed OpenWRT on it. The onboard Wi-Fi isn't fast enough for my needs, so I decided to use a Comfast CF-921AC Wi-Fi dongle that I had available. However, I'm experiencing issues with this setup. When I connect the Comfast CF-921AC and restart the Pi, it enters a boot loop. The device constantly blinks both red and green lights for a short period, then restarts. This cycle continues indefinitely until I unplug the power cable. If I connect the Wi-Fi dongle after the Pi is already powered on and running, detects the wifi dongle is connected. The problem only occurs when I boot the pi when the dongle is connected. if I disconnect the dongle The Pi boots normally. I've read in the sticky post about Wi-Fi dongles that using a powered USB hub might help, but I'd like to know if there are any other solutions I could try before investing in additional hardware. Anyone experience or know how to fix to this issue?
