I think I’m a little further on.
If you upload a riscv binary to the Pico2, and then start openocd, it will connect OK, and you can run gdb! What you can’t do is "monitor reset", because openocd loses the connection.
From my point of view (bare metal riscv), I think I need to look for the OTP settings to force at least core 0 to riscv.
