I completely uninstalled logwatch (with purge) and reinstalled. Now it works from the command line, but still won't send mail.
I'm sorry, but I'm just not motivated to continue this project. Here's one reason why.
You suggested journalctl. There was nothing on logwatch in there, but there are thousands and thousands of lines like this:
I have no idea why. I never enabled nut-driver. I installed it and configured it, but never tested it because the UPS is too far away from the Pi.
And now, I try to disable nut-driver, but it will not die:
It says disabled and inactive, but it just keeps on running.
This entire project has been full of stuff like this, many of which require many hours of Internet research trying to figure out how to do things.
I've wasted too many hours and suffered too much agony to continue.
I wish I understood why the Pi engineers made what should be a simple OS upgrade so bloody difficult.
