If you're running PiOS (lite) the preferred version should be the one from the Pi repos.
You can check that with

Code:

apt policy vlc
Hi,
Thank you for the response, I can see below result for command.. How to proceed further?
vlc:
Installed: (none)
Candidate: 1:3.0.21-0+rpt3+deb12u1
Version table:
1:3.0.21-0+rpt3+deb12u1 500
500 http://archive.raspberrypi.com/debian bookworm/main arm64 Packages
3.0.21-0+deb12u1 500
500 http://deb.debian.org/debian bookworm/main arm64 Packages
500 http://deb.debian.org/debian-security bookworm-security/main arm64 Packages
I tried below command, it failed..
sudo apt install vlc=3.0.21-0+rpt3+deb12u1
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree... Done
Reading state information... Done
Package vlc is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
