Imho of course, WebGL benchmarks on Chromium based browsers running on both X11 and Wayland, X11 was faster few frames/s and generic heavy webpages/scrolling/writing seem faster while still fully accelerated. Hardinfo GPU test benchmark is clearly faster. It's like the UI experience seems faster because much lighter as it should and much lower latency.
Thanks. Out of curiosity, what numbers do you see under X11/Xorg with the glmark2-es2 test ?
This evening I'm going to test it. Imho the frame/s may not always be the best value to check anyway. Probably the old X11 UI might require more CPU but at the end having an ultra accelerated UI that lag even with lower CPU usage doesn't seem often useful. Of course some apps may benefit from Wayland which I hope will get better and much lighter.
