Trouble is, there are no default Samba permissions, there are only the OS defaults and if your USB drive isn't formatted with a Linux filesystem, then the permissions are purely imaginary.Hi, I think what I’ve done is accidentally changed the folder permissions. I was following different tutorials from different places and copy/pasting commands into the terminal to try to get setting up network share working. I was in sudo su mode then after that I was unable to access any of the folders or the smb.conf file. Is there a way to reset all folder permissions to read/write access including the ones on the usb network drive I am trying to set up? Thanks
I think you are going to have to give us a bit more info before anyone can help you:
What version of Raspberry pi OS ?
Where is the USB drive mounted ?
What filesystem is on the USB drive ?
Finally (for now), please post the output of the following command:
Code:
testparm -s
