Downloaded "2024-03-15-raspios-bookworm-arm64-full.img.xz" for new RPi 5, and have done updates to current.
After selecting some text with mouse (terminal or some other apps):
Under OSX, W11 (etc), X11: hover over "Edit", left-click & hold, move to "Copy" -- it highlights, release button and it's copied. Hover over "Edit", left-click & hold, move to "Paste" -- and text is pasted.
Under Wayland: Above sequence, NOTHING HAPPENS. Have to click AND RELEASE on Edit, menu stays up, then move to "Copy" and click it AND RELEASE, then click AND RELEASE again on Edit, then click AND RELEASE on "Paste".
Switch from Wayland to X11, and first sequence works.
Since I switch back and forth between different platforms/OSes, that alone is enough to keep me from using Wayland.
I don't know where to report it to the Wayland folks, and don't have time to do so (after having wasted one day short of 6 weeks on a firewall/gateway issue that was solved by going back to Stretch).
And for those who claim Stretch is "ancient history", my first experience with *nix was Bell Labs Unix Version 6 on a PDP-11/34 back in about 1977. THAT's "ancient history"!![Laughing ]()
