Recently tried to startup my new pi zero 2 w. Used pi imager, chose to change password wifi location stuff etc. Put the card in and powered it up. Found the ip address, and did a ssh to the pi. It would not accept the password. I rewrote the image, in case I misspelled my pw. Same deal.

Is there something u ique about first boot?
Yes. Some configuration stuff is done then.
Any suggestions?

Do you have another Pi on your network?

If so are they both called raspberrypi?
Any suggestions?
You mention "Found the ip address". Are you sure you have the right one and not that of another ssh enabled box?

Are you able to directly connect a keyboard and monitor and try logging in that way?
I think next I will just keep the defaults. Really confused.

There is no default user. If you don't set one in imager you'll be prompted to do so during the first boot setup.
