Thank you. That's really helpful.You should try to get more knowledge on the function of thermal pads - sometimes also referred to as thermal pads....
This brings me to my next question. Assuming that they don't get that hot even with overclocking; By placing thermal pads on them, could they get hot because of the heat transferred from SoC, PMIC and WIFI module via the heatsink?
The PCB itself of the Pi is also used for transferring heat --> can result in a small temp increase of some other component. Nothing to be worried about though.
If your Pi5 with official active cooler is running too hot from your POV you're free to change the cooling map via config.txt.
This is what I'm using on my Pi5 - overclocked to 2.9GHz.yes, it will be more noise but the pay stays cool. That's the tradeoff (less noise means higher temp).Code:
dtparam=fan_temp0=36000,fan_temp0_hyst=2000,fan_temp0_speed=90dtparam=fan_temp1=40000,fan_temp1_hyst=3000,fan_temp1_speed=150dtparam=fan_temp2=52000,fan_temp2_hyst=4000,fan_temp2_speed=200dtparam=fan_temp3=58000,fan_temp3_hyst=5000,fan_temp3_speed=255
